Lula Weekly Status, Week of October 5, 2026

From: Gemma Period: 2026-10-05 to 2026-10-11

Executive summary

This was a site quality week. Lula now shows up to Google, Bing and AI answer engines as one clearly described company: the full Organization schema is live on every page, and the homepage and /services both have new FAQs with matching schema. The speed pass is done on my side too. Real visitors already pass Core Web Vitals, and this week took about 15 MB of images off 40 pages and cut /appfolio from 4.5 MB to 2.3 MB.

The site audit held at 100 on the October 9 crawl. Search clicks fell from 576 to 491. Branded clicks held (418 to 417), and the loss sits on four pages, one of them the insurance help page now redirecting to Intercom as planned. The one number to watch is the best property management software article, which slipped a few positions on its small-landlord terms this week. I am checking the results page before changing anything.

Delivered this week

Schema: one Lula entity

  • Organization schema now lives in Yoast and is on every page (October 5). It carries a full description of what Lula does (occupied maintenance, make-readies, Flat Rate, 24/7/365 LuMi intake, the four Pro vetting checks and Foresight), the legal name, founding year 2017 per Nate, the Overland Park HQ, sales and support phones, both co-founders, and verified LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram and Crunchbase profiles. It sits in the page HTML, so every crawler sees it without cookies or JavaScript. Tested live with zero errors.
  • Homepage FAQ live (October 6). Six questions ordered by buying intent: who qualifies, pricing, markets, commercial scope, how Lula compares to managing it yourself, and what Lula does. Styled to match the after-hours page, with FAQ schema that matches the visible answers word for word.
  • Services page FAQ and schema live (October 6). Five questions in the page's existing card style, plus schema listing all 29 trades shown on the page.
  • Services page display fixed (October 6). WordPress had broken most of the page's styling, including every mobile rule. Headings and cards now line up on phones and the white strip above the footer is gone.
  • Schema map for all 53 pages. The old Tag Manager tags for the homepage and /services are paused, so they can be switched back on if anything looks wrong. The make-ready city pages and the make-ready hub are next.

Site speed

Real visitors pass Core Web Vitals site-wide (mobile LCP 1.9 s, INP 144 ms), so speed is not a ranking risk today. This work is for first-time visitors on phones and for the server wait time.

  • reCAPTCHA replaced with a hidden spam trap on the two sitewide pop-up forms. /appfolio went from a 49 to a 73 mobile score and from 4.5 MB to 2.3 MB. reCAPTCHA no longer loads on the homepage or the make-ready pages.
  • 52 heavy images swapped for compressed versions across 40 pages, 19.5 MB down to 3.9 MB. /services went from 3.5 MB to 2.0 MB.
  • 38 internal links that went through a redirect now point straight at the final page, including the Pro "Sign Up" links, which now go to /pros.
  • Video, map and podcast embeds on 19 pages now load only when scrolled to. Each make-ready city page is about 1.1 MB lighter.
  • Author byline links reach /articles in one hop instead of two (73 links).
  • Smaller fixes: meta descriptions on six pages (the fall HVAC tune-up, RentSpree, the press page and the three vendor templates), a new title for the fall HVAC tune-up page, a duplicate H1 removed on the refrigerant rules article, and missing alt text added.
  • Houston and St. Louis make-ready pages have their icons back, verified live on October 7.

One finding for Nate: the page cache plugin is installed but is not caching. Every page takes 1.2 to 1.7 seconds to build on each visit, which is the slow server wait real visitors see. Turning it on needs no new plugin. Details in open items.

Nomad

  • The Nomad page is live at /nomad as of October 6.

In flight

  • Nomad press release and co-authored blog. Neither has published yet. I will pick up whatever comes back from review.
  • AppFolio hub, with Nate for review of the plan and wireframes.
  • Schema, phase 2. The make-ready city pages and the make-ready hub move into Yoast next, with their FAQ schema re-checked against the page text.
  • Flat Rate hub rebuild, mockup and copy with Nate.
  • Homepage rebuild, with Nate, with the two open questions from September (the fifth partner logo and a definition for Service Categorization Guarantees).
  • CALNARPM 2027 session pitch, with Kaytlynn. The official deadline is October 16.

Measurement highlights

Site health. 100 on the October 9 crawl. Two of 510 URLs carry an error, both pages with no internal links pointing at them: the Pro app download page from last week, and most likely the new /nomad page, which nothing on the site links to yet.

Traffic. Search Console, October 4 to 10 compared with September 27 to October 3.

  • Clicks went from 576 to 491. Split by page, branded traffic held: the homepage, /pros, /login, /services, careers, company, reviews, get-started and the app page added up to 418 clicks the week before and 417 this week.
  • The drop sits on four pages. /help/insurance-requirements went from 24 to 15 as the redirect to Intercom takes over, which is expected. The Flat Rate hub went from 15 to 5 after its launch week. The make-ready checklist went from 10 to 3, and the best property management software article from 28 to 11 (more below).
  • Impressions rose 26 percent to 56,665. Nearly all of that is the single query "lula" on the homepage, 8,751 impressions against about 1,750 the week before, at an average position near 12. Those searches are mostly for other companies called Lula, so the rise is not new demand.

Best property management software article. Last week this page lost impressions while its positions held. This week the positions moved, comparing the same two weeks:

  • property management software for small landlords, 3.1 to 6.7
  • best property management software small landlords, 2.5 to 8.0
  • rental property management software for landlords, 5.0 to 9.7

The only change we made to the page this week was the image compression. I am checking the results page to see who moved up before recommending anything.

Make-ready rankings. The October 11 snapshot agrees across desktop and mobile this time, which settles last week's split.

  • Apartment make readies, 70 monthly searches: 1 on both devices (desktop was 3)
  • Make ready services, 100 monthly searches: back at 7 on mobile and 6 on desktop, after dropping out last week
  • Make ready maintenance, 100 monthly searches: 4 on mobile and 5 on desktop, on the what-is-a-make-ready article

The city terms are still too thin to read week to week. Atlanta ranks 3 and 4 on its own city page, while Indianapolis and St. Louis returned no position on mobile after 2 and 4 last week. These terms carry little or no volume, so from here I will judge the city pages on 28 days of Search Console data.

AI visibility. For the week of October 5, Lula was mentioned in 10.1 percent of relevant answers (9.4 the week before), with 55.0 percent share of voice (52.0) and a 25.0 percent citation rate (26.3). This week's sample is short: Claude and Perplexity ran fewer answers than usual, and Claude cites Lula more often than any other engine, so the blended citation rate dips with it. By engine, citation rate rose on Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Mode and Claude, held on Copilot, and dipped on ChatGPT (19.8 to 18.0) and AI Overviews (23.0 to 22.3). The schema and FAQ work went live October 5 and 6, which is too early to show here.

Backlinks. 2,141 referring domains, against 2,139 the week before. Flat after last week's jump, which I still need to review before calling it a gain.

Blockers and open items

  • Page cache. Nate's OK to switch on the cache in the existing plugin, or the reason it is off. The plan is page cache and mobile cache first, then browser caching, testing the forms and the cookie banner after each step.
  • Pro app download page. A menu item or a link from /pros.
  • /nomad. Should it be linked from the partnerships page, or kept for Nomad owners only (in which case it should be set to noindex)? Also, the page says "A dedicated coordinator from intake to close." Nate's comment on the press release was that Lula as a whole is the point of contact, so "a dedicated coordinator" may overstate it. Worth a check.
  • The make-ready market list and the AppFolio flow (which flow new AppFolio customers get, and where LuMi sits in it), both carried from last week.
  • Product claims on /predictive-maintenance-software, still live today: the meta description says Foresight "forecasts failures," and the "up to 80%" card has no source.
  • Flat Rate hub rebuild, waiting on review, the portraits, three photos and Decisions 2, 4b and 5.

Next week's priorities

  1. Check the spam folder on the two pop-up forms (October 13), then decide whether the remaining page forms can drop reCAPTCHA too.
  2. Move the make-ready city pages and hub schema into Yoast.
  3. Check the results page for the best property management software article, and review last week's new referring domains.
