Lula Weekly Status, Week of August 10, 2026
From: Gemma Period: 2026-08-10 to 2026-08-16
Executive Summary
A build-and-linking week rather than a drafting week. Two things moved: the after-hours answering service page went from an approved copy doc to a finished, paste-ready WordPress build, and the SLA article was repositioned around maintenance response times with its internal link map rebuilt from scratch.
The after-hours build took longer than the copy did, and the reason is worth recording. The lulalife theme carries several rules that break a custom landing page only after it is pasted into WordPress, not in local preview. Six separate defects were found and fixed, each verified against the live theme stylesheet rather than assumed, and the finished page is now render-tested at four screen widths. That work is reusable: every future Lula landing page inherits it, so the next one should be a same-day build.
On measurement, the picture is steady rather than eventful. Rankings on the tracked set are largely flat with one clear gain, organic traffic is unchanged, and referring domains continue to be the strongest line in the report. The top-3 keyword count eased again, which is now a three-week pattern and is discussed below rather than treated as noise.
Wins This Period
After-Hours Answering Service Page Built and Ready to Publish
The page at /after-hours-answering-service is finished and paste-ready. It is the conversion destination for the paid after-hours push with dayparted bids, and the commercial organic play for the same space.
- Copy updated to your revision. The hero now leads with "Maintenance Handled 24/7" and a subhead that covers routine repairs alongside emergencies, so the page does not read as emergency-only. The 2 a.m. headline moves into the paid test set as variant A for Tyler. Scenario three now says LuMi runs initial diagnostic checks across thermostat settings, breakers, HVAC filters, and pilot lights.
- Rebuilt in Lula Green. The page runs on the brand Success ramp, with purple reserved for the four surfaces where LuMi itself is the subject: the hero call card, the capability list, the triage node in the routing diagram, and the training-data stats. The earlier build used generic purples that were not on Lula's AI ramp at all. Those are corrected to the brand deck values.
- Integrations section now uses Lula's own markup. Instead of text chips, it reuses the theme's existing "Works with Any Software" block with the real partner logos, which brings the desktop layout and the two-up mobile logo treatment for free.
- Six build defects found and fixed, all of which only appear once the page is inside WordPress. The stylesheet had to be minified to a single line, because WordPress converts blank lines into paragraph tags and shreds the CSS at every gap. Two column classes in the theme are defined outside every media query, so a split section stayed split on a phone. The theme force-centers the hero below 768px with an ID-scoped rule that a normal override cannot beat. The card rows had one pixel of slack against the container, so rounding decided whether they wrapped, and are now rebuilt on CSS Grid. HTML comments inside a card row were being turned into invisible layout items that pushed a card onto its own line. And the theme draws a decorative bar above every heading that is brand blue and centers itself even above a left-aligned heading.
- Verified rather than eyeballed. The finished page is render-tested in a real browser at 1920, 1440, 900, and 390 pixels, confirming equal-sized cards on one row, correct stacking on mobile, and no horizontal overflow at any width.
The page cannot publish yet. Five open items are listed in your court below.
SLA Article Repositioned Around Response Times, With Its Link Map Rebuilt
/articles/sla-tracking was rewritten to lead with the operational question, how a team sets a response commitment, holds it across a portfolio, and catches a request drifting late before the resident feels it, rather than with the SLA acronym. The URL is unchanged, so there is no redirect and no citation check needed.
- The linking work was the larger half. Fifteen internal links were placed on verbatim phrases in the draft, one per destination, covering the scheduling cluster, the operations pages, and the consequence pages. Two links were dropped as wrong-audience or irrelevant.
- Inbound links went from 8 to 18. Ten new editorial links were added from pages that already discussed response times, each placed inside the relevant section rather than bolted on.
- Anchors rebalanced. Every existing inbound link used SLA phrasing. Two were deliberately kept on the term for coverage, and the rest moved to response-time language to match the new positioning.
- No cannibalization risk. A check against the blog inventory confirmed no other page claims a response-time or SLA term.
Measurement Highlights
Rankings and AI Visibility
Pulled 2026-08-14 against 2026-08-07, desktop, on the tracked project.
- One clear gain.
quarterly rental inspection checklist pdfmoved from 10 to 7 (volume 100). That page has been on the watch list since its sharp drop after the June edit, and this is the second consecutive period of positive movement on it. - Five terms held exactly flat:
make ready serviceat 4,apartment make ready services near meat 5,property maintenance software programsat 7,property maintenance systemat 8, andmake ready services near meat 20. - Two single-place slips, both inside normal weekly movement:
property maintenance appfrom 11 to 12 (volume 300) andrental walkthrough checklist pdffrom 22 to 23 (volume 200). - No tracked term is currently held by an AI Overview citation. All eight ranked terms report a plain organic result this week. This is the same presence-toggling pattern reported for the last four weeks, now at the low end of its swing. It is worth restating that AI presence here is share of presence, not click yield, and the numbers Lula owns outright live in Bing's AI Performance report, which remains the source of record for the true citation trend.
- One data oddity to check. The ranking URL recorded for
quarterly rental inspection checklist pdfreads aslula.life/Property, which is not a real page path. That is most likely a tracking artifact, but it is worth one look to rule out a stray page or a bad canonical.
Organic Traffic
- Estimated organic traffic is 2,301 a month, essentially unchanged from roughly 2,296 in the last update.
- Keywords in the top 3 eased to 81, from about 88, across 146 tracked organic keywords, down from 150.
- This is the third consecutive period of a small decline in the top-3 count against flat traffic. Flat traffic alongside a shrinking top-3 count usually means terms are slipping from the top three into positions four to ten, where they keep most of their traffic. That is a soft signal rather than a problem, and it is consistent with the average-position drift flagged two updates ago. Now that it has appeared three times, it is worth a proper diagnosis next period rather than another week of watching.
Backlinks
- Referring domains reached 1,229 on 2026-08-10, up 25 on the week from 1,204 on 2026-08-03.
- This remains the strongest line in the report. The series runs 839 on June 1 to 1,229 on August 10, a gain of about 47 percent in ten weeks, and the gains continue to arrive weekly rather than in bursts.
Search Console
- Not included this period. The Search Console connector does not have permission on the
lula.lifeproperty, so no clicks, impressions, or average position figures are reported here rather than estimating them. Granting access to the reporting account, or a manual export, restores this section next week. The average-position trend flagged in the last two updates is the specific thing this gap is hiding, and it connects directly to the top-3 movement above.
Now in Your Court
After-hours page, five items before it can publish. These are the only things between the page and going live.
- Josh: does LuMi create a work order, or only log the request with full detail for the morning queue? This appears in scenario one and is load-bearing there.
- Josh: confirm live-agent hours, and that both escalation paths are live, the one LuMi offers and the one a resident can request.
- Josh: is overnight dispatch available in all 50-plus markets or a subset? Scenario three currently implies all.
- Josh: language support. The FAQ is written but unanswered, so it either gets an answer or gets cut.
- Nate: the after-hours pricing model. Core has no monthly, annual, or setup fee, but that should not be stated on this page without confirming it covers this offer.
After-hours page, two smaller calls.
- The logo row currently omits Property Meld, which appears in that block elsewhere on the site, because it sits on the do-not-name competitor list. If that list is out of date, it goes back in.
- On the live block, the AppFolio logo is commented out and replaced by a Primary Inc wordmark that still carries AppFolio alt text. The real AppFolio mark was restored here since the page copy names AppFolio. Worth knowing why it was swapped, and that alt text is wrong across the live pages regardless.
SLA article, two verification items before publish.
- Internal Lula data on SLA adherence before and after predictive scheduling. The previous draft carried a high-90s claim with no source, which was removed rather than kept.
- Whether Lula publishes standard response windows by category.
Article re-point, still outstanding from the last update. /articles/after-hours-maintenance-calls is sitting in Trello Editing targeting the commercial term that the new landing page now owns. It needs re-pointing to the how-to term, with a link up to the new page, before either goes live.
Still open from earlier updates, unchanged: the homepage rebuild scope and the three inputs it needs, the Flat Rate catalog decision, the Kansas City cost index format call, the Maintenance Cost Index contract question, the extreme weather set including the legal read on the heat piece, the /services fact confirms and pre-redirect citation check, the tracking software decision, the AI crawler check on lula.life, the Pro interview series yes or no, the water heater and plumbing cost figures, the preventive maintenance checklist and its 80 percent claim, and the recognition and announcement articles awaiting facts and quote sign-offs.
Coming Up
- Publish the after-hours page as soon as the five confirms land. The build itself is done, so this is a same-day turnaround once answered.
- Diagnose the top-3 and average-position drift properly rather than watching it a fourth week. Restoring Search Console access is the first step, since that is where the answer lives.
- Ship the after-hours article re-point and the internal link up to the new commercial page.
- Fill the SLA article's inventory row, which is currently blank on H1, date, both link lists, keyword, and intent.
- Watch whether the technician scheduling page leaves crawled-not-indexed. The 30-day measurement window lands 2026-09-06.
- Work the blog inventory into a ranked refresh queue against the Q3 priorities.
- Carry the theme fixes from the after-hours build into a reusable base for the next landing page, so that work is done once rather than rediscovered.
